asleep at the wheel

1. ~tarorae reminded me how much I love drawing to song lyrics. Didn't expect THIS to be the result, though.

2. Lyrics from "Asleep at the Wheel" by Bloodhound Gang. Honestly, who draws prettyboys to BLOODHOUND GANG? Hence the unexpectedness. *shrugs* I had the scene and the song stuck in my head, and they kind of fit, sooo this is what you get. I blame my brother.

3. They're fighting over the keys. Hu doesn't want Hellar to drive. Why, you ask? Well, it's Hu's car for one thing. And well... that's no cigarette.

4. All hail the flamer shirt! Now with 200% more armbelt action!

HELLAR: Get me some real clothes, damnit.
PIIG: No.

5. Actually did some research on the background props, namely the car. It's supposed to be an early-nineties Ford Taurus. Despite my best efforts, it came out looking fairly retarded, but not TRAGICALLY so, I'd say. Oh, and they're supposed to be parked at a rest stop, of the kind attached to BC routes that have barely graduated from "logging road" status. Hence the general disrepair (Hellar's kind of hangout, I suppose).

6. Other nitpicks (this is turning into another essay, isn't it?): the label on Hellar's pants is misplaced, the perspective on the railing is off, I still didn't get the pants folds right, and I've completely forgotten which side Hellar parts his hair on. Meh, maybe he alternates.

7. Why isn't Hellar wearing shoes? You have two options, really: (a) they're on a roadtip, Hugo's been driving up until now, and it's common practice to remove one's footwear while one is travelling for long stretches; (b) I just got fed up with Hellar's shoes.

8. I stole Hugo's hairstyle from a guy in my Philosophy class.

9. Microns, liquid tip, magnum, text in PS7. One font from misprintedtype; others, who knows.
